Meet Amber, see her art, at Black Rock Gallery

Amber Maida

Her art is really wonderful, and she’s charming in person, too. Her show, Labyrinth, at the Gallery at Black Rock opens tomorrow in two hours. Here’s a backgrounder.

Her bio, taken from Fine Art America: Amber Maida’s paintings are internationally collected and represented by galleries in CT, NY, VT, CA, and in the UK. Vermont Today called Maida’s paintings as “Kandinskyesque abstractions,” and her work has also been featured in journals including Art World News Magazine (September 2009) and Ink Magazine (January 2008).

At The White Space Gallery (New Haven, CT), where she was represented from 2007-2009, her paintings hung alongside Salvador Dali’s. A suite of paintings by the artist were recently selected by Richard’s of Greenwich for the 2009 Art to the Avenue public art exhibition (Greenwich, CT). Her work has also been included in juried exhibitions at museums and galleries, including AIRS (New Haven, CT); The Housatonic Museum of Art (Bridgeport, CT), The Silvermine Guild of Art (New Canaan, CT) and Lazy Pear Gallery (Montpelier, VT).
