Lee - I believe most of the artists have gotten their work back. The issue is those of us that are owed money from sales of our items have not been paid. We artists that sold work are owed our money, simple as that. Personally I sold a piece over two months ago, and have not been paid. It's not necessarily about the money, it's also about doing what is right. Because their business model was flawed, we have to suffer? Karma's a you-know-what.

It's an embarrassment for a "university" to allow this to happen. Sacred Heart should reconsider their decision. I see all around us, in Fairfield and New Haven counties, people making very personal sacrifices to keep art alive. It wasn't too long ago that Sacred Heart gallery was brought up in discussion and how deserving it was of even a larger space.

Societies that don't promote the arts don't endure. I wonder how that applies to a smaller society like a university?

This is very disappointing news! Sophia Gevas did an excellent job in curating vibrant, informative and thoughtful shows. This will be a huge loss for the community as well as the University.

This brings back memories of the old student newspaper days. Remember Letraset? How the letters cracked when the sheets of rub-off display type got too old? How the waxer would malfunction and ruin your galleys with gobs of hot goo?
I gave up on the Mac back when software programs were exploding and you could get hardly any of them for MacIntosh, but always rooted for the company and their beautiful machines.

Heartbreaking news, Lee. Struggling to keep the arts available and easily accessible to the public is a full time, and often unpaid job. Where is the WPA when you need them? Artists managed to survive before in tense and difficult times, with a little help from the government.
Bailing out the arts is something I could get behind, rather than funding another bank or auto maker. We must do all we can to keep the arts alive in Connecticut.
